Am filled with Joy as I write this because we had a good moment as the Ugandan steemit community . Nothing excites me more than sharing what I know about steemit to others and also getting to learn from other steemians . On 2nd June we held one of the massive steemit meet ups with the newbies and the experienced steemians and a lot was discussed in the meeting as am going to share with you too as we go on . Am glad I was chosen to be the master of ceremony for the meet up and I assure you it was a great time. The turn up was really good we were over 30 people out of the 50 active steemians though our numbers are growing big am certain our numbers have risen to 90 now though some people have not yet gotten serious with steemit but am pretty sure the more meet up we organize the more we shall attract people to steemit with motivational messages and testimonies .Some of the steemians that attended include; @mwamin7, @jaraumoses, @tesaganewton , @musamalijames , @yohan2on, @sembozezade, @jordanlove, @battebilly, @csearneithan,@musemeza, @natsemily , @shinejean and many more newbies.

The meeting started with introductions and each person had a task of explaining how they joined steemit and how steemit has improved their lives. This was so important because currently we do not know some steemians physically . We also had six main speakers for the meeting and they included;@ireneblessing where I discussed on how to get content to write about , @yohan2on discussed about the various Dapps , forexample Dtube, Dlive, and Dsound , @jaraumoses explained the importance of powering power and how steem power can improve the lives of more Ugandans. @sembozezade explained more about cryptocurrency and also taught us about the different crypto markets , @musamalijames explained on how to make 1000USD on steemit in a short while then lastly @tesaganewton discussed about the importance of interacting on the different channels like discord, telegram and steem chart.

am going to get detailed as I can because am pretty sure this information will also help other steemians as well and also am going to list the disscused topics in form of questions for easy read ups

• how do I get content to write about?

This was answered by me and I tried to give a personal experience by the way fellow steemians told me I never run out of what to write about and I personally had not realized it .I believe Reading is important and it is from reading that we get ideas , from reading other people's post I get an Idea like participating in Woman crush Wednesday I read about @gee1 post then I literally became part of it. If you have noticed I try a lot to participate in different contests , do research for different steemians like Cobinhood plainly I try to limit my self to one post a day so I can spare time and read what others are writing . Reading teaches us what we don’t know and with steemit it is not about the money only but there is a lot of information to get on this platform . It inspires us, motivates us. I also recommended the newbies to be part of ulogs Iknow some one is asking what Ulogs are but let me explain shortly these were created by @surpassinggoogle

Ulogs are simply steemit posts containing logs of YOU; whether it be Vlogs, picture-moments, stories, plain-text, write-ups or a combination of all forms of media etc. Any steemit posts that records your daily activities; celebrating "YOU" and life are "Ulogs" and Ulogs don't have to be perfect! They simple need to be real and utmostly "YOU". The "U" in "Ulog" represents "YOU".

Every one of us has an activity each day so with the ulogs tag you can write about your day and then earn from that. I also went ahead and advised the people to take part in the discord channels since they also add value to us . This is how I went up this and if you have any thing to add to this let me know and by the way I made a video of me explaining this and I will be uploading it soon .

• what are the Dapps and how do they help us?

This question was answered by yohan2on and he started by encouraging the newbies to promote steemit a lot and if you look at the Uganda tag most of the Ugandans have specialized in writing me inclusive but there other apps built around the block chain that we can use and earn from them . @yohan2on started using the Dapps just a week back but he is really reaping big from them . He showed us how the different Dapps work and how we can upload quality videos and also how we can create traffic on a Video with the various Decentralized apps such as Dtube, Steepshot, Dsound.

• what is steem power and what is the use of powering up

This was answered by @jaraumoses where he said steem power helps us get influence on the platform and also
Your votes become stronger. Your upvote is directly proportional to the amount of Steem Power you have. The more SP, the stronger and more profitable your vote becomes. some one can quickly get steem power as you begin earning through blogging and commenting plus upvoting .He also said that You can earn interest on your Steem holdings. Just like with other Proof of Stake elements in cryptocurrencies such as NEO and PIVX, you earn a compounding interest rate on all Steem held as Steem Power. Holding SP essentially gains you passive income that you wouldn’t otherwise receive if you left your Steem liquid on an exchange or external wallet.

• how to make thousands of dollars on steemit in a blink of an eye

@musamalijames answered this and he advised the community to comment more than they post because from commenting he has reaped more than any other steemian in the Uganda community and by the way the only way people are going to notice you is if you engage on their blogs . He advised that it is good to leave quality comments and by the way commenting is another good way of getting rewards from steemit without posting . It most of the times creates traffic on some one's blog and also it creates more friends

@tesaganewton explained the relevance of using discord channels and telegram that they help a lot in creating loyal friends and also they are a good way of doing post promotions since they have a post promotional channels .
