Promoting Steemit: The Five City meet-up project Will Build New Steemit Communities In Nigeria

The Abuja city meet up was fun. As @ejamai had noted over 70people were present for the meet up. More steemians were inspired by all visiting first steemians of the Nigerian community, this ranges from @ejamai, @ehiboss @mimy @destinysaid, @nairadaddy, @fistgenius(not sure of the name), they where all put together by the able Abuja team which included:

Just to mention only a few.

Alot were discussed, especially owing to the fact that most in attendance were already steemians. These discussions focused on bringing value to the community and how to use some applications like zapl,busy.org, dtube, etc.

I had meet @florae, @nairadaddy on discord, and @destinysaid on WhatsApp, I guess these are the beauty of meet ups.

The Five City Project

The five city project is simply initiated by bloggers heaven steemit community to promote steemit within five cities clustered within same region in Nigeria. I will start Five Nigerian North central cities which have never heard of steemit or low performance namely;

Minna,Suleja, Keffi, Lafia, Jos.

These cities has been strategically chosen because of its population and hypothetically, I believe steemit activities are very low within these places.

Roadmap to achieve this project

We shall start with finding out if there are steemians in each of these communities. Where there is none we create one whee they are in existence we press to have a first meet up with them to strengthen them. Thus we shall have two visits in each community. The first visit would comprise;

Phase 1; Establishment of a steemit community by finding new prospects and strengthening them for a major meet up.

Phase 2; To expand the community and have a major meet up within the community.

These plans would help build stronger communities on steemit and foster love, relationship, trust and believe in the system.

We shall also try as much to give information about cities and peoples we meet and expect to meet in all of these cities.

Project Duration

This project would go on, until we are able to touch major Nigerian cities that has prospective steemians. However, for this first project in North Central Nigeria. We estimate 12weeks, we shall take the first 5weeks to visit them for the first phase of the project, and then take some rest. We shall use the second stretch of fibe weeks to start off the second visit which entails expansion.

This project only takes place weekends.

The Team

For now the team is yet to be selected, however I shall lead the delegation of the team. For now @mickyscofied is joining me to the first visit in Minna. Also @evansbankz I.dictated an interest. However we are looking at getting dedicated people who would also lead this mission. Therefore, if you feel this is your kind of project feel free to jump in.

We decided to pick minna as our first touch because a member of Bloggers heaven is in minna. In fact my very first Steemit recruit @izzreal.

I had spoken to him to open a social media platform for those in minna, he has done this, we have almost 12 people from minna now on steemit courtesy @izzreal and the group. They are also part of Bloggers Heaven.
How can I forget @mickyscofied who brought me to Steemit is also in Minna, but his dislike for the city is greater. Finally, he agrees to join us in Minna to strengthen this new community.

The people of Minna

The people of minna are mixed religious afliations with Islam being predominantly practiced. Most of the christians are urban dwellers and settlers from various cultural heritage whom are there for trade or to make a living through other means. It also houses institutions such as Federal University of Technology Minna(a major place we are also concentating on) and Federal college of Education Minna, there are still other institutions, however, these are our concentration. Hopefully they will soar steemit to greater heights in the city.

The natives are Gbagi and Hausa speaking tribes of Nigeria.

I shall tell you more about the town as I report my proof of work.
