Pushed back date of our mall event | Why and How do we plan to fix it? - Steemit Events

-"I believe artists should focus on their crafts to get better each day rather than worry about ads or marketing. "

This has been my goal even before joining steemit, we have been organizing events and performing at national events to promote arts like poetry and singing you can check my groups FB page for videos and different TV interviews here: www.facebook.com/papersoulph

After our first succesful event with 2 TV interviews and 20 sign-up, we decided to go bigger and create a real world contest event for steemit. However this proved to be one of the most challenging event we ever encountered.

Why it was moved the first place?

  1. They said they have multiple events for the month.
  2. Mall 3-day Sale - meaning they want to promote brands who are on sale and dont want any other kind of distraction for this.

Since this is our first mall event and since it's for Steemit, we agreed to move the date to Apr 20 from March 20.

  Why it's moved again?

You can see in this email from them that we need to sign and purchase agreed amount from the mall for the event to commence but we have been waiting and even when to their office to no avail. This is a very frustrating experience, their lack of follow up and communication have caused our event to be moved again!

The reason why I haven't been posting about this is we are still trying to push the event asap but to no avail. We are now left with 2 options.

How do we plan to fix it?

We are now left with 3 options.

  1. Move the event to June before the school resumes and to ensure it won't be moved again we will pay for the requirement purchase amount from the mall and donate part of it to our charity even before the event.
  2. Conduct the event on other malls. Fortunately there's a new mall that'll be open next month and usually they are more active to pleasing their customers when theyre new.
  3. Move the event to an open place. It will have the same effect like the mall in terms of attention to our platform and to our performers.

The 1st and 2nd choice is in respect of our first promise to conduct a steemit event inside a huge mall in our city however the setting date will be the same June. The last option is flexible enough for the event to commence by May. We are asking our supporters @starkerz @anarcotech @cryptocurator @surpassinggoogle on what is their opinion cos our team is now begging for your understanding and longer patience.

  Our audience and contestants reaction

We have been active with communicating with them and they said its okay. We asked all our audience forgiveness and amazingly we had one more applicant cos the event is moved.

As the founder of Steemit Pampanga and an upcoming ambassador for steem, Im ashamed of this results and delays. We could have created multiple events with all the time that passed by but we cant turn it all back, I learned the hard way creating an event inside a huge mall requires more patience and attention than any other events I created.

I will make this event memorable cos this is the first real world contest for Steemit in my city. Again thank you so much to our supporters @starkerz @anarcotech @cryptocurator @surpassinggoogle

Thank you to the projects who supported us.

Thank you for reading!
Happy promoting!

You have my patience and understanding so no worries there. Take your time to get it right. Consider diligently the contract you sign with the mall and the exposure it has upon you/ your organisation. If appropriate take advice locally and/or insurance. Try motivating your contacts towards a new timetable which sees all milestone dates scheduled and paperwork agreed by a date early in May forexample. Work on an event timetable, which shows who needs to do what by when. If not sensitive or private info and you are comfortable to do so - you could blog about it to show the work your are putting into promoting Steemit!

Thank you so much for @cryptocurator ill folliw your advise. Ill be blogging about it too so that other promoters can learn about how to do a mall event properly.

Ok, firstly, don't worry. Stuff happens. I can tell you from personal experience that things don't always go the way you want them to, especially if you are relying on other people somewhere along the line.

I think for an event like this you need to give yourself lots of time. It's very tough to arrange anything quickly. My personal opinion is that the outcome should be getting the event on in the best possible way you can.

So, if you have to wait, then wait. Make sure you do the backend work first...in other words, get the agreement from the mall office that it can take place, and make sure all your logistics are in order.

Don't panic. Take a breath, learn from what went wrong, regroup and make it happen!!!

And thanks for keeping us in the loop about it.

Thank you sooo much! Id ike to keep the momentum going for #promo-steem following your successful london cryptocurrency show but i guess id have to wait. Rest assured that i learned my lessons and ill make sure this event will make you guys proud.
