Steemit Meetup Lagos, Nigeria
It was nice to finally make it to my first steemit meet up which was organised by the members of steem-lagos crew. It held yesterday 28/10/2017 and it took place in the most popular city in Nigeria.
Though i got late to the event because i was coming from a very far distance but i met some parts of the program.
There were a lot of great and experienced steemians in the house who shed more light to the issues that were bothering most of those that were present in the meet up.
Some of the lectures for the day were @ejemai, @lucashunter, @oluwoleolaide, and @sweetestglo-eu.
They all touched various parts of steemit and i can assure you that it was worth the time, energy and the fare for transport.
The part that got me so happy and fulfilled was the video call with @surpassinggoogle a brother, a friend, a father, an adviser, a therapist. I cannot start to mention all cos he is a lot of things to me, I call him the Hope Giver cos he came when i needed somebody to make me understand more about life. He was all the way from Philippines.
It was a nice session with him. He spoke on a lot of things ranging from not seeing steemit as a money making machine to making us understand the fact that there are other ways to achieve on steemit. He crowned it with urging us to care for one another. He said one is indirectly caring for himself while caring for a brother.
He answered some questions from the audience but the most painful thing is that i was not able to ask him questions personally because time was against us.
Another interesting stuff about the meetup was that i finally had the chance to meet friends i met on steemit especially @smyle, @cwen and @sweetestglo-eu, @bob-elr . We are in the same whatsapp group and we actually chat a lot. It was fun finally getting to meet them.
I am glad Nigerians are waking up to this wonderful opportunity and i want to assure you that in months to come, the platform will be happy to have Nigerians.
