According to the settings of the movie which took place in the nation of Wakanda, it is so fascinating as the Wakandan are known to use the Vibranium to produce an innovative and advanced technology and they segregate themselves from the rest of the world, they took us back to the year 1992 as king T’Chaka visited his brother and he accused N’Jobu of aiding the arms dealers with robbing Vibranium from Wakanda.
After the death of T’Chaka and his son T’Challa came back to Wakanda to become King, he later joined with the leader of the Dora Milaje to remove his ex-lover from an on-going undercover assignment to attend his coronation. The tribes were fighting over the meteorite habouring the vibranium which was ingested by the Black Panther to give him the superhuman abililities.
How do you create a product this good?
By doing things differently. Lets see....
STEEM BLOCKCHAIN AND THE BLACK PANTHER
DC comics led Marvel during the comic days - by a mile - but Marvel has constantly pummeled DC at the box office.
Partly because their super-heroes are more realistic (Superman can lift the earth and bathes in the sun, that is a dead-end in terms of adventure because he has been made larger than life), but also because of their innovative approach to business same as block chain:
NICHE MARKET: There was a huge gap in the market for a black super-hero, same as there was for a black American president. Marvel was bold enough to grab.
TOOK THE RISK: It was always going to be a huge win or a huge humiliating fail.
CULTURE-SHOCK: When a product is really good, (like iPhone) it creates a new culture, and every culture has followers by default. Notice how people go to watch with their traditional attires - even the Chinese. Winners are shockers!
KEPT IT 100%: They went all the way, with nearly an all black cast and crew. They owned it completely, certainly sweeping the Oscars for best cinematography, best picture, best costumes, etc.
EXCELLENT DELIVERY: When you take a huge risk, you can't compromise quality, that way you could say you did it for the love of it.
INNOVATIVE MARKETING:
- Audio Soundtrack Album - Released same day
- First fully successful batched release. Released at different times to different continents (based on financial analytics) while prohibiting reviews (which would have dampened the excitement)
- Tailor made greeting to different cinemas. THIS HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE, and it looks easier that it is. Black Panther was viewed in 4020 cinemas worldwide - maybe owned by 100 movie franchises (e.g IMAX, Genesis, Ozone, Silverbird, Cineworld, etc). EVERY CINEMA FRANCHISE GOT A SPECIAL GREETING FROM THE BLACK PANTHER CREW; that equates to over a hundred recordings just to make your customers feel like they are part of the project (excellent customer service)
- TEAM WORK: Did you notice every main character had special powers or gadgets that made the entire movie exciting regardless of who was being watched. After Superman flopped several times DC switched to promote Justice League (where everyone is a superstar)
THIS IS HOW WINNING IS DONE, AND HOW MONEY IS MADE...it is never an accident.
