Uganda imposes a social media tax steemit is the solution. We have been moving place to place, University to university, Town to town, Street to street informing people to join steemit. People have refused to listening our voice.
If I were Jesus I would weep for them.

Now social media taxes are being introduced in Uganda. We are going to pay gasping taxes (wolokoso taxes). Taxes have been introduced to Facebook, Twitter, whatsApp and all the social network.

I am very happy that this has come when am on steemit. I am making money on a social media platforms I can pay that tax. It's looks fair for me. I can pay the tax.
On the other side if you take a closer look at such a tax it's meant for the internet users.
Which means the cost of data is going to be increased.

This is negatively going to effect the growth of internet users in Uganda as big numbers of internet users have been using it to Facebook and Twitter and whatsApp.These have been it entry point in the internet industry.

It's through Facebook book that we got to know about Steemit, blockchain and cryptocurrence.

Words of the governor of the Bank of Uganda Mutebile.

I believe the tax has been introduced because of cryptocurrence. If you think about it closely.

However there nothing that can stop a made-up mind.
There is nothing that can stop us from posting on Steemit. There is nothing that can stop cryptocurrence for speeding in Uganda.
We keep promoting steem.

I love how President Museveni is open to blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. Holding the African blockchain summit in Uganda plus him meeting with the binance CEO shows how open he is to blockchain and crypto. It's quite a huge step for African countries who like to stick to the sidelines on any new concept.

But for the social media tax, I totally disagree. How do you tax people for communicating and sharing important things?

Dont think it is fair on ugandans. Never heard of any government in the world taxing citizens for use of social media. Just feel pity for those that wont be able to pay the tax. Internet providers are already dealing with consumers with the high rates, now the government, too bad.
