OGUN STATE STEEMIT MEET UP

Yesterday, we had an awesome MEET UP in Ogun state Nigeria. The MEET UP organised and sponsored by myself @adesojisouljay, @kesolink, @mcmusic, and @valchiz.

It was great having higher turn up than the last OGUN STATE MEET UP. In all, we had 41 steemians in attendance(great), both newbies and old members.

@kesolink began the meeting with a special greetings to all steemians. He talked about how he started as a minnow. He encouraged the minnows not to be discouraged but that everyone should be focused. No one climbs a ladder from the top. Understand that every whale began as a minnow. He also urged everyone to be persistent on the platform. Don't just share post expecting an up vote form others, do endeavor to read people's post and comment on their post.

@valchiz urged to be careful against being flagged. He warned everyone against the abuse of tags, spamming other's post with post links, begging for up vote and resteeming. He also suggested that they can also participate in contests and challenges to help them gain more fame and publicity.

@mcmusic talked about persistence, he said winners are those that never think of hiving up. He shared the testimony of how he has been benefitting from @openmic contest. Though he himself has not been getting much up vote on his posts, but that is not a reason to quit. He gave the testimony of how his music crew @keymelodian got an up vote that's worth $103. So he encouraged every one to keep doing what they know how to do. Just ensure that you are know at one thing and that you are good at it. Patience, perseverance and consistency is need.

Myself @adesojisouljay was able to give some minutes speech to everyone at the MEET UP. I encouraged every new steemians to be confident on STEEMIT. To the newbies, I told them never to be too focused on the money making part of this community. The first thing you need is not to think of how to make money from the platform but what you can do to grow the community. Specifically told them my observation since I joined the platform. I have discovered that every successful steemian are known for one special area of specialization helping the platform to grow.
Another thing I said was that, unlike Facebook, steemit is more mature and educative. While you can post just any thing on Facebook, you can only post quality contents on steemit. One thing I always encouraged new steemians about is that, once you join as a newbie, you should start blogging on a particular field or area. There are tags on steemit that can help you.
I disclosed my plans concerning STEEM MUSIC to them. STEEM MUSIC is a record label created by me. My plan is to puy steemit into the music industry. The post on STEEM MUSIC will be made in few days. The plans are already made and all things have been put in order.
