Milk box challenge: what to do if your loved one is missing

Are you worried about a loved one who could have run away, or could have gone missing? I have brought together some tips and advice from experience and the police department on what your first actions should be. If you're concerned that your loved one may be thinking of running away, make sure you check the warning signs.
And remember, you're not alone, kindly take your time to read this article, I think it will be of a great importance for you to find your missing loved ones.

If you think that your loved one has gone missing, and you can't reach them on any of their lines, the important thing is to try not to go into meltdown and disorganized. Sometimes people are prone to strops and storming out, so difficult as it may sound do your best not to buy into any worst case conclusions, as the vast majority of missing loved one return home safely.

How to respond when you're sure your loved one is missing

(1) Ring around their friends and close associates to ask about their last whereabouts.

(2) As soon as you're sure your loved one is missing, contact your local police station and report the missing case.

(3) Phone their work place or school and see if it can shed any light on new friends or colleagues that may have a clue of their whereabouts.

(4) Have a look at their Facebook and other social network timeline (if they have one) to see if there is any information that can help the search, or check their internet history for clues.

(5) If you suspect it is an intentional runaway by your loved one send a text message that reassures them the situation can be resolved and letting them know how much you love them and willing to see them, to encourage them to get in touch and try as much to avoid angry or confrontational messages.

(6) Spread the news to as many people as possible that your loved person is missing and make a note of any of their clothes or personal items that are missing.
