Okay, let's actually talk about Project 2025.

If I, or anybody I know who is a Republican (I'm not. I've been a registered Democrat much more recently than I've been a registered Republican), decided to mirror the hysteria, you'd see how crazy this looks.

Imagine if I were posting statements of policy or goals from WPATH or BLM or even The Democratic Socialists of America and said that a Biden win would result in policies undermining the nuclear family, forcing white people to leave their inheritance to black people, that it would lead to full-blown Marxism and mutilating the genitals of kids who express discomfort with their bodies. You would mostly be right to tell me to ditch the tinfoil hat lunacy.

You would be right to point out that all of these organizations operate independently of the Biden administration and the Democratic party. You would be right to point out that there are legal barriers in place separating these organizations from political activity. You would be right to say that any and all of these organizations can only influence Biden and the Democratic party so much as Biden and the Democratic party allow themselves to be influenced. You would be correct in saying that, even if Biden and the Democratic party were entirely in bed with these organizations, it would be insane to think that Biden winning the election would shape American government to fit their whims within four years.

You would be correct in refuting any of these hypothetical claims that I haven't made, even though those claims are less insane and conspiratorial than the hysteria involving Project 2025.

I mean, in regard to genital mutilation of children, I didn't have to look to WPATH or a right-wing rag like Newsmax to voice concerns. Rachel Levine, an appointee of Biden, pushed WPATH and other international medical groups to do away with any with age restrictions for "bottom surgery." This has been reported by the New York Times.

Project 2025 comes from the Heritage Foundation. That's a DC non-profit which is legally forbidden from endorsing a candidate or any specific piece of legislation. Having been inside their offices and met some people from Heritage, yeah, most of them probably prefer Trump to Biden; but, BLM clearly prefers Biden to Trump. In neither direction does that mean that the candidates or the political parties and the organizations are in cahoots.

I'm sure that a lot of people at Heritage have a utopian vision of porn being banned nationwide. I doubt that the guy who fucked a porn star is gonna push that through. Even if he did, there's no chance that the congress and the SCOTUS would tolerate it. There are plenty of organizations, political parties, and publications that have utopian views of adopting the Soviet model, and orgs full of people who have read Brave New World and thought it was an instruction manual. That doesn't mean that voting for Biden is going to result in Neo-Pavlovian Conditioning Chambers in four years.

This whole hysteria is abject bullshit. This is the Kochtopus all over again. All that's really happening is the DC non-profit sector being what it is and modern "journalism" doing what it does.

Basically, a bunch of rich people paid a bunch of less rich people to jerk each other off while concocting a bunch of pie in the sky ideas. These less rich people, especially in conservative and libertarian spaces, suck at optics and messaging.

The legacy media are lazy; so, instead of doing a real investigation on a real scandal like Warergate, they take public information from a group with whom they disagree, package it as some kind of a conspiracy, and get useful idiots to freak out about it.

The only real story behind Project 2025 is that some rich people who disagree with a lot of people gave money to a few less rich people to muse about a four-year plan that won't happen.

That's not much of a story. It happens in every political direction.
