Only God knew what little James had been at the door watching. His nanny, Betty, who had been observing him for close to three minutes, decided to move close enough to see what held her little boy so spellbound. Before she could make it to where he stood however l, he whirled around. She had obviously startled him. That hadn't been her intention but she didn't have cause to worry. The boy was fine. At least the look on his face told her whatever it was he had been looking at made him really happy. He brimmed from ear to ear.
Thinking about that incident many years later, James smiled to himself. He had enjoyed watching his parents as a child. Whenever they got back from work, they'd spend some time in the garage, talking like they hadn't returned from work in the same car. He watched them at the dinning-table, the way mummy would blush at the slightest praise from daddy about the cooking. Whenever they took walks, daddy always held mummy ever so protectively. The duo were just so into themselves. He recalled asking his dad who Hus best friend was, he had smiled when dad told him that his best friend was his mum. Truly, his parents were best of friends.
Growing up in a home where there was so much love helped James grow into a God-fearing, God-honouring and loving gentleman. He got employed shortly after his university education and soon saw the need to marry and settle down. Having observed his parents from the time he was a child till he became of age, he resolved to settled down with someone he had known closely right from childhood so that they too could have the same relationship his parents had. Unfortunately however, the lady wanted nothing more than being a mere acquaintance. Heartbroken, he confided in his father who counselled him that the best thing to do was talk to God about who to marry and allow him choose who's best for him.
Heeding his father's counsel, he decided to try talking to God about the person to get married to. Shortly after he started praying he met this lady at a youth camp, they had spent a few moments chatting at the meeting and it had seemed like they had known each other for a lifetime, he instantly knew she was his wife. James was soon married to the amiable Janet Bright. Indeed, theirs seemed like the provebial marriage made in heaven. With each passing day, they saw how much they had fallen in love and how deeply they grew. You could hardly catch them in their own, everyone at the local assembly knew the Smiths as the inseparable couple. Both the married and the singles loved to be around them because their union epitomised true friendship. Janet, when asked by some women to describe her husband said the best way she could describe him was as her best friend.
