Priyam Garg was born on November 30, 2000, in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. He was born into a low-income family and raised in it. Naresh Garg, his father, works as a Health and Social Care Driver and also sells milk. Priyam's mother, Kusum Devi, died in 2011 when he was 11 years old.
His three sisters are Pooja, Jyoti, and Reshu. He also has two brothers. His older brother, Shivam, is a pharmacist. He began playing cricket when he was six years old.
To get a set of pads, a bat, and other equipment, his father had to borrow money from a friend. Instead of worrying about the family's financial situation, the child was encouraged to focus on honing his skills.
Many aspiring Meerut cricketers, including Praveen Kumar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, took small steps to a bigger stage at the Victoria Park Ground, which was 20 kilometers from Garg's hometown.
