Why do I get to see so much about data privacy these days and what's the FUSS about Cambridge Analytica?

It is not only the NSA and government mass surveillance, but Governments also contract out a lot of private companies to gather data of its citizens. It certainty is too much power for a corporation to have. These powerful corporations can manipulate your data and influence your views by pumping fake news or propaganda to achieve what any political party wants at whatever price. We have learnt the ugly truth that this desperate act has been done is countries like Nigeria, India , Kenya and other nations.

In this recent fiasco of Cambridge Analytica we have learnt that they obviously had way more information from facebook about the users they should have had and to make it worse they got to keep it for themselves and retain it all.

It's not FUN, but at the same time any average or below average person is unaware of what they are giving up when they go to a site like Facebook and say yes to the JUMBO-BUMBO terms and conditions assuming it's okay.

What you're really doing is you're becoming a product on their website. Your information is valuable to many marketing companies and other so called ' Intelligence firms ' that simply wants to know everything about you. They want to start by knowing you, what you're doing, how you look, your relegious views, your gender age and sexual preference. Are you happy? Are you sad? What time of day are you happy or sad? There is all sorts or crazy stuff you can imagine of.

If you are constantly exposing inside life of yours to the outside world and you are constantly looking at others then all you really get is bunch of worthless stats and pictures of people.

This is what i'm eating, this is my new outfit. I'm better than you.
The problem is that a lot of people start comparing themselves to the people they see.
Don't you agree it is a weird social dilemma ?

At the same time no one else is showing their downside of the life. Nobody is posting about the fight they had or their nervousness about arranging for upcoming bills and EMIS. It's all about, Oh I need to be happy all day, I need to go and eat at fancy places everyday every meal, I got to have the newest stuff. Blah Blah Blah

This phenomenon has in fact become an epidemic.
