This was just a matter of time. What'll be interesting is how the IRS handles BTC --> other crypto transactions? Does buying BTC in Coinbase and then using it to buy Monero count as a capital gain event, or will they consider crypto its own blanket asset?

Well I guess you'd have to explain where the BTC went when you bought Monero. Or perhaps what you did with the Monero after you bought it.
