This actually does need to be long....

I'll start by steelmanning the gender ideologues, and address where they have a point regarding housing prisoners on the basis of gender identity rather than biological sex. Then I'll tear them apart limb from limb.

Since Blaire White was used as a hypothetical example by some of these ideologues in discussions with me, I'll go with that. If she were ever convicted of a crime, especially a non-violent crime, I find it hard to argue that she should go to a men's prison. I emphasize the severity of the hypothetical crime for a couple of specific reasons which I'll address later.

Suffice it to say, it doesn't take much of an imagination to know what would happen to somebody who looks like Blaire White if she were forced to go to a men's prison. It's a punishment that wouldn't be proportional to a non-violent crime.

If the crime is that she shot up a preschool, I think I would be open to throwing her to the wolves.

Now the knives are gonna come out.

The first problem with having prison housing policies based around gender ideology is that it can't happen even if the ideologues are right. If there are only two genders, it's possible to make it work. We're already seeing the issue of convicts identifying as non-binary. We're not gonna build separate prisons for non-binary people. Hell, maybe we will; but, if you can't count the number of genders on two hands, if at all, there's no way to make a commitment to sending every offender to be housed with the gender that he/she/they/zir/bun/whatever identifies with.

I'm not strawmanning the ideologues to say that there are swaths of people who insist that nobody would ever lie about being trans. That it's offensive and beyond tolerable to even suggest that somebody is lying. That it's bigotry to expect any trans person to do anything to actually present or "pass" as his or her gender identity. That gender can be fluid, and can change from time to time.

We should get passed this, "Nobody would ever lie about x." thing. It's the fastest way to get proven wrong. People with poor moral values will lie about anything if it stands to cost them little and gain them plenty. If all you need to do is identify as a woman to get into a woman's prison, as the ideologues want, and have succeeded in winning in some places, and all of the "gender affirming care" is completely optional, what does a murderer, or a rapist, or a paedophile have to lose by lying about identifying as a woman? They have a hell of a lot to gain. They don't have to have their testicles removed and their penises surgically inverted. They don't even need their sex drives or fertility impeded by hormones. What did Amber McLaughlin have to lose by lying about being trans? The dude brutally murdered his ex-girlfriend and raped her dead body. He was ultimately executed, and he's been reported as the first transgender woman to be executed in These United States. He didn't start identifying as a woman until Missouri changed its prison policies regarding gender identity. Use your fucking brains people.

There are valid concerns regarding biological men assaulting women in prison -- a lot of valid concerns. Still, there's a problem that most people are overlooking. There's an issue with with having two sets of gametes locked up together. It was only a few years ago when a biological male, who identifies as a woman, fathered two children with two fellow, female inmates. The sex was consensual. Still, all of the parties involved are serving time for violent crimes, and won't be up for parole until the kids are in their thirties. This is another reason why the severity of the crime should be a factor.

When you put the entirety of gender ideology into action in regard to prisons, it becomes a sick joke that isn't funny. If you take it to the logical conclusion, Brock Turner could have gotten the punishment that he deserved for the rape that he committed, and said "I'm a woman now." The ideologues couldn't be intellectually consistent and demand evidence from him that he's really a woman. The dude that everybody wanted castrated without anaesthesia and dragged though the mud a few years ago would suddenly be granted all the victims he could ask for in the name of gender ideology.

Really, to be frank, I'm at tolerance level zero here.

Gender ideology has come to the point that women's safety and women's rights have become an afterthought.

Maintaining some way to make fun of Republicans is now more important than protecting women. It's come to the point that the ideologues can't imagine an incel, or a fetishist, or just a generally disgusting man who can't get a woman to wilfully touch him, or disrobe in front of him, who simply decides to game the system, call himself a woman, and gain a free ticket to women's spaces thanks to the woke brigade.

Finally, I don't know about other people on my side of this issue; but, I'm gonna answer two common verbal ejaculations from the ideologues for myself.

One is that, yes, I do think that there are crimes that are so egregious that a person's gender identity and preferred pronouns shouldn't even be on people's radar. To some extent, the ideologues have to secretly agree with me. Their heads would probably explode from cognitive dissonance if Brock Turner came out as a trans-woman. You can't have #metoo and believe that fully intact male rapists and murderers should be locked up with women in your brain at the same time without discomfort. If Harvey Weinstein came out as Hanna Weinstein tomorrow, would any of you have him locked up with women?

The other is that, no, I'm not saying that everybody who does an evil thing who said that he or she is trans is lying. Trans people are people with the same capacities for good and evil as the rest of us. I'm neither a bigot nor a trans-supremacist who thinks that trans- people can do no wrong.

That's a bizarre charge for the activists to make.

They must know that, as the burden of proof appears to their liking, and we start believing known liars when they say that they're trans, and when they combine that with the fact that there are sick people in the world, that if they win in regard to policy, it's only a matter of time before every sick freak on the planet starts lying to get into women's prisons.

How is that gonna help the movement? How is that going to help our brothers and sisters in the trans community when almost every rapist and child molester suddenly starts coming out as a trans-woman to get an easier ride in prison?
