RE: ChopChop3D Slicer BETA_05 is out !
As a 3D printing enthusiast, I appreciate your work. Slicers (and FDM 3D printing as a whole) are now in their infancy and lack many complex features. I would really like to see more slicers on the market, each bringing its own unique useful features. There is still a lot to be done in support and infill generation algorithms. There are still some tricks to be implemented that could potentially greatly improve surface finish. Also, I really hope to see 4 and 5 axis printers in a few years along with slicer support for such machines.
I would be great if you could write a post telling about some cool new unique features of your slicer and compare it with Cura and Simplify 3D.
More things will come. It is a really long road, and it takes a huge amount of both time and efforts to make it works.
I'm sure they will. Can't wait for your next update :)
A little note, just in case if you are looking to share this burden of developing a new slicer with someone... I would be more than happy to help. Being a 3D printing nerd and a professional software developer I probably could contribute something to this project.
