Airship Parts and a Painting Jig

in #print3d4 years ago

Today, I switched back to white resin (what a joy to work with compared to the coloured stuff), and printed few more items for a 1:220 scale model of the steampunk armoured airship Zaphnora. This included a test of the pilothouse, which came out very well, three more disappearing guns, and a painting jig to hold the latter.

Some of the above items I printed much earlier, such as the tiny railing next to the pilothouse, along with the main gun.

Sitting on top of a 1-Rouble coin, you can see how ridiculously tiny and thin this print is. Still, thanks to the fact that there were very few supports, and all of them were on the bottom of the model, post-processing was much quicker and easier than any of my blasted tanks.

Neither the 105mm gun on the left, nor the 147mm gun on the right have square pegs, so they are just resting in place. The disappearing guns, on the other hand, and held in place quite tightly, and won't fall out during paining.

I offer the files for two types of disappearing guns for sale, along with the painting jig itself. The files are for 1:100 scale models, not the 1:220 scale models depicted here.
