Out of the way

It never fails to amaze me the difference in the pricing of items when you just go that extra bit further to obtain them.

When walking through the busy and bustling city of Bangkok you'd be amazed at the price difference a few extra steps can make. For example, if you exit at the BTS stop Siam you are greeted by coffee shops charging around 100-150 Thai baht for a coffee, a price that to me as a lowly English teacher seems very high and virtually on par with western countries. However if you are willing to walk for just a few hundred metres you are greeted by much smaller and local coffee shops which will charge a much more reasonable 40-50 baht for a coffee, a price I am used to when travelling through the more rural areas of Thailand.

For someone who is price conscious or just trying to save for a rainy day it is always vital that you go that extra inch to do what others are not willing to do, if you do this then you'll always be able to get a better 'bang for your buck' as the Americans say.
