الرئيس جورج ويا يعود بشكل مفاجئ للعب مع ليبيريا أمام نيجيريا

عاد الرئيس الليبيري جورج ويا، أفضل لاعب كرة قدم في العالم سابقا، بشكل مفاجئ إلى المنافسات الدولية في مونروفيا يوم الثلاثاء وشارك في الخسارة 2-1 أمام نيجيريا قبل أسابيع من بلوغ عامه 52.

ونظمت ليبيريا مباراة ودية لتعليق القميص رقم 14 الذي ارتداه ويا لكن الجماهير شعرت بالمفاجأة عندما قاد المهاجم السابق منتخب بلاده وارتدى هذا الرقم بعد 16 عاما من خوض آخر مباراة دولية.

وذكرت تقارير أن الجماهير وجهت تحية حارة للرئيس ويا، الذي قدم بعض اللمسات الرائعة التي جعلته سابقا يحظى بشعبية هائلة حول العالم، عند استبداله في الدقيقة 79.

Liberian President George Wia, the world's best former footballer, suddenly turned to international competitions in Monrovia on Tuesday and took part in a 2-1 loss to Nigeria weeks before he was 52.

Liberia organized a friendly match for the suspension of shirt number 14, but the fans felt a surprise when the former striker led his country and wore that number 16 years after the last international.

It was reported that the crowd paid a warm tribute to President Wia, who gave some of the wonderful touches that had previously made him hugely popular around the world when he was replaced in the 79th minute.
