Wow! What a great project! Cant wait to see how it turns out! We built a hoop house like in your picture, and the plastic is supposed to last 5 years. Its only been about a year and a half, maybe two, and its looking like it will need replaced soon... Glass is definitely the way to go.
Not just glass, but double wall, insulated glass. Let the sun in and keep a bit more solar energy as well.
Makes sense! I bet it is more resistant to breakage as well!
