Prep fluffing

I should probably be ashamed, but I'm feeling bothered because I haven't had a chance in a long time to actually need to use any of my preps. And I know that's a stupid "problem" to admit to having.

I guess I could sneak out and shut off the electricity and water, but knowing I did that would take the fun out of it.

Lately, I've been feeling really antsy about preps. Feeling I need to do more.

More water, in particular. There are zero surface sources of water around here, so emergency water must be stored -- although I do have filters, too. And I don't have nearly enough water stored (as if "enough" stored water would be possible).

But it's not just water. I've been fussing over all my preps as if I'm getting ready for something that's coming. And, no, I don't believe I'm psychic or anything, so I don't believe anything is imminent.

So I'll just keep doing what I'm doing, and doing more of it, too. Reminding myself that even if TS never HTF, preps are still a smart thing to do, and smooth over all sorts on non-emergencies in the meantime.

Me and my sister are prepping up right now especially after news about the censorship was expanding. Each time we hear news about censorship we tend to buckle down a little more.

Are you rotating theough your supplies and restocking continually, or do you find yourself with a shelf of expired goods every so often?

I rotate them. I got an old "Shelf Reliance" FIFO (first in, first out) can rack from Goodwill, and it works pretty well. I've never found anything expired. Yet...

People may make fun of preppers, but around here, winter blizzards do knock out power and block roads. I should put together a wildfire bug out kit.

I always do enjoy the flow of your writings but I still can't get what you mean by "preps"and"prepping" even after reading from your blog 😔

"Preps" is short for "preparations". "Prepping" is short for "preparing". What am I preparing my preparations for? Emergencies.

Let's say something happens and I can't get to the store to buy food. I have enough food to last quite a while at my house.
What if the town's water system breaks down? I have drinkable water, along with some just for washing in.
If the power goes out I have flashlights and kerosene lanterns in every room of the house. As well as lighters for lighting the kerosene lanterns. I have batteries, and adapters so I can use AAA and AA size batteries in things that are made for larger sizes.

You get the idea, I hope. Make sure you are prepared to get through any emergency situation that could come up, without too much trouble. Different areas have different trouble that can arise (earthquakes, tsunamis, wildfires, riots, tornadoes, etc.), so know what can happen where you live and make yourself ready.

Thanks a lot @dullhawk it was very clear this way. Actually, I have a lot of these measures in place and can't survive without them. No one goes out their homes here on Mondays, its official somehow.
