While relaxed reading helps develop the person's perception to understand the world around them, analytical reading increases blood flow to the brain in general, but specifically to the prefrontal cortex. This region deals with a number of cognitive processes that work to aid in the management of care and the performance of complex activities. These preliminary results will result in deeper research on how reading can shape and change people's cognition. Reading with our children books that leave a message of unity among the people, mutual responsibility and empathy towards their fellow men is indispensable.

Article 31 of the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child states that the states that sign it "recognize the right of the child to rest and recreation, to play and to recreational activities appropriate to his or her age, and to participate freely in life cultural and in the arts ". In that sense, it,s playing as the child develops, and that is why it,s recognized as a right.

And to play, it isn,t necessary to spend a bundle on the most technologically advanced toys. No. Good toys cost very little. More play, more movement: more childhood.

Mud is the prince of toys. The mud is nothing and can be everything. And throughout the history of humanity, it has been a material that,s served to do many things. It,s a very rich material. And in the hands of children ... a good toy is what lends itself to many uses, with different social conditions. Good toys are those that serve many things.

Another "good toy" is the book. I like very much to think that someday a father will give money to his son, he will take him to a bookstore and he will say to him, 'Choose a book'. "That book will surely go to a house, boy, waiting to be read. There is born the relationship that will generate a new reader: I think the most important thing is to offer children the experience of listening. You can,t learn to read well and with pleasure without having lived, without having had an experience of enjoying listening to an adult who reads the child. But as not all families can access this right, it is the school's obligation to do it for all children, so that everyone has a fundamental basic experience to move to the technical part of learning to read.

A child should start reading because he wants to read; because he lived the fascinating experience of listening to the reading of books that an adult gave him over days and days, and I consider that this should be customary in schools, with a time slot established for that purpose. This is the only guarantee that the desire to learn to read can arise in these children. Once this is done, the most important thing will already be achieved, and then the instrumental learning of reading is something that children today learn by themselves.

Finally, I recommend reading without fear, without thinking that you are wasting time or you could do something of greater importance. And before going to bed accompany the children to sleep reading a book and not watching TV, which constitutes the basis of reading.

This, always, with the idea of playing with the child, because in terms of playing, it never ceases to be a child.

I am so thankful that my parents read to me as much as they did. I used to love trips to the library with my dad, and I will make sure to continue the tradition.

Thanks. Yes. Me too.
