The importance of prayer in our lives: The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective, James 5:16
The gospels teach us the importance of praying to God with confidence and without doubt: "Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" Mark 11:24-26.
Prayer is a special relationship with God, by which we recognize ourselves as his beloved children. And asking God has a fundamental reason, the divine providence that disposes of everything, although humanity is sinful, God in his wisdom is infinitely good to men, God is always attentive to our needs: "If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him" Matthew 7:11.
And the apostle James affirmed in his epistle that whoever leads a life in the grace of God should never forget this spiritual resource, faith well lived can work miracles in our lives: "The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective" James 5:16.
The righteous life ("Do to others what you would have them do to you" Matthew 7:12) is the life according to the divine law, because the neighbor matters, and whoever leads a life free of sins can be sure of living a life full of blessings; but as happened to Job, the upright man is not free from misfortunes, but for the righteous man misfortunes are momentary, while the promise of the beatitude is eternal, for this reason, the prayer of the upright man is particularly powerful, the apostle James told us. Faith to be effective requires secure people and not people who constantly doubt in everything they do.
Never giving up and being particularly insistent when asking is the key to being successful before God; as Jesus taught in the parable of the widow and the judge (Luke 18:1-8), the widow constantly went to ask the judge for justice, and he, tired of her visits, did justice. In this way, we should act.
