And it is not by coincidence. Look at google trend. The interest in Steem blockchain by chinese is at highest after Myanmar.
And according to Alexia China provides fourth largest number of visitors to steemit.com.
I would like to interpret it as - China has huge latent demand/interest in steem but they are holding it back due to uncertain legality by a authoritative regime.
But as China has started ranking blockchain projects and steem is number #2 so chinese, sitting on sidelines, will be encouraged to jump onto steem blockchain.

I personally think - it is the best time to get hold of some steem as soon communities and SMTs are going to be launched which will increase the utility of steem blockchain manifolds.
Great find. I hope China actually legalizes and supports cryptos. I'm surprised Ethereum is #1. It's great Steem is #2 based on these metrics. I'm surprised Bitcoin is so low.
Well - it is like second gen blockchains are highly ranked. I am sure ranks will change as time passes by.
However, i am also of the view that Bitcoin potential is underestimated by all rankers. The biggest advantage Bitcoin has is there is no single person who can be claimed to own/start bitcoin and can be threatened to kill the blockchain.
All other chains have owners and if government wants then can arrest that person to send sock waves in the community of owners of that blockchain. But same can not be done for BTC.
