Like the one I got today

I can't Remember the last time I got a hand written "snail mail "

Like you , I get hundreds of e mails,Dms and text messages daily

But a snail mail ? In these days of instant messaging ? Now that was oddly exciting.

The letter was from a long time friend of mine

It read

Today I wish you a day of ordinary miracles

A fresh cup of coffee you didn't make

A unexpected phone call from a old friend

Green lights on your way home

The fastest lane in the grocery store.

Your favorite songs on the radio

Your keys right where you leave them

A empty parking space

A rainbow ,

a bird singing

A smile from a stranger

A kiss from someone you love

Ordinary miracles. The little things I take for granted .

Miracles that I saw as routine

But are miracles when someone opens our eyes

By getting our attention in a unconventional way.

In a way we remember forever

Unexpected kindness

Are miracles

We give to one another

They may be little

But to the receiver they are huge
