Excursion to Tata...

Today I had the joy of walking 8km on an excursion around the Old Lake in Tata, a very enjoyable little city in Hungary approximately 50km from Budapest. It is a fantastic place for a nice walk, and I really enjoy it. It isn't the first time I have walked around the lake, but I guess it is maybe the 7th or 8th time I have done this enjoyable walk. It is flat all the time, and you can see the lake during most of the walk. That makes it so enjoyable, and I can warmly recommend it to anyone who wants to do a fantastic walk in a beautiful environment in Hungary.

Not only can you enjoy the walk, but you will also see attractions such as the Eszterhazy castle and also the famous Tata castle, a place that has been used for recording the popular Netflix series named The Witcher and much more.

Besides this, you will also walk next to coffee houses, and restaurants, meaning that you have plenty of chances to take a break and enjoy something to drink or eat.

In Tata, you can also find a smaller lake that you can walk around. This is only 3km in distance, making it easier if you don't have much training.

Nearby you can also find the city of Tatabanya in which you can find the famous Turul bird, the one you can see in the photo at the top of this article.
