Thanks. I think that most of is wrong in politics (and probably elsewhere) is because those who could do a better job are either not allowed to get there or refuse to be part of a system where doing what is right is not as important as doing what is expedient.
Yes, I would not want to do those jobs as they are today for any amount of money. ugh.
I live in a county with astronomical real estate taxes. Most of this seems to go to salaries for the big wigs, who do nothing much of value to me. The parks are not cared for, the roads are a mess, but we have police everywhere and it is considered one of the safest towns in the nation.
