Comparisons by a nine year old
Two of my grandchildren are both nine years old - there is just one week difference in their ages - Juliet was born first and then Jude -and although they adore each other, they are very different little people.
This was pointed out to me the other night by Juliet - and it went something like this:
Granny, Jude and I are so different -
Jude loves the long stemmed broccoli and I hate it.
He doesn't like sweets and I do.
He won't eat cake and I love cake.
I love cool drinks and he only likes to drink water.
He hates reading and I love reading.
He is short and I am tall.
He likes to ride his bike and I am still scared of falling off my bike.
But - he is always very sweet to me - I am the only girl amongst my cousins and he always makes time to also play with me and not just the boys.
I thought these comparisons by Juliet were spot on and it made me realize how fast they are growing up and looking a little deeper into how they see people.
Makes one wonder how they see the adults in their life - but maybe we should not dwell on that as we may not like what we hear!
Kids are very honest.
