Drown Myself with Ice on a Hot Day

in #powerhousecreatives6 years ago (edited)

It is SUPER HOT these days!! We need to save ourselves with these delicious tasty yummy local icy dessert.

This is called Ice Kacang, direct translation means "Bean Ice", a common dessert in Malaysia. It's made out of shaved ice with an ice shaving machine. Common ingredients are red beans, sweet corn, palm seed, grass jelly, agar-agar and sprinkled with roasted peanuts. Finally, drizzled with evaporated milk, gula melaka and red rose syrup.

That's how we eat it!

Wow, that looks pretty tasty... I've never had shaved ice, and I didn't realise that was what it was! I thought it was a RICE dish!

Sweet stuffs on rice, can't imagine too!

Ooooh... Rice Cream! It is one of my favourite desserts!

You must write a post about it!!

We so desperately need SNOW to be thrown at our faces in this heat !!
No way to survive without any air-cond

I know right! It's raining outside now but I'm still in room with air-cond!

That looks really colorful! I bet it tastes great and refreshing!

Totally, especially on a hot day!

It looks, interesting, but I just like white soft ice cream

We all have our preferences.

Red beans? Sweet corn? Never seenit in the dessert!!!

If you ever come to South East Asia, do give it a try!

Sweet corn as a dessert? Never heard of that before- how unique!

Yes @goldendawne, we used corn to make all kinds of desserts, like the one below is my fav too, corn custard/pudding

Such an interesting and unique dessert, however, I can understand the desire to eat ice when it's so hot.

You can't eat this, but I'll often wet a tea towel and throw it in the freezer for 10 minutes, then wrap it around my neck. When it first touches your skin, the cold is shocking, but when you're pushing 40 degrees outside, you quickly relish the coolness, and begin to feel refreshed.

That idea sounds really cooling!
