Should Steem Power be buyable?
Having pondered this question a bit I have arrived at the conclusion that Steem Power needs to go. Yes, it makes some people money, but it only makes the rich richer (something that Steem should avoid at all costs). I think that the fact that you can buy steem power puts off those who have something worthwhile to say, and presses the opinions of people who say a lot about nothing (because they know that they can get away with that).
What would you replace it with?
Same system, except that you can't buy or sell it.
You can't buy or sell Steem Power. You can buy or sell Steem which can either be instantly powered up to grant you SP, or powered down over the course of 13 weeks from SP to Steem.
You can basically buy it though. There's a big button in my wallet saying "Buy Steem and Steem Power" – and it works too.
