9# - ONE MIN BOOK SUMMARY - Law 7: Get Others to Do the Work for You - The 48 laws of Power (Robert Greene)
Is it really OK to use other people to do the job for you ?
- I will say yes. Hold on, hear me out.
Not only will such trick save you valuable time and energy, you will also appear efficient and prompt. The sad thing is that in the end your helpers will be forgotten and you will be remembered.
Just take the advice as it is : Never do yourself what others can do for you.
Why ? Because if you don't do that, someone will use you to do the job for them.
That's not enough ?
Just ask Thomas Edison. He was the personification of other people’s efforts. Edison took credit for the improved version of the dynamo, improvement done by Nicola Tesla. Instead of paying Tesla, the 50 000 USD that he promised him, Edison only gave him a raise...
I agree.
This is a sad yet true story about a man who was obsessed with his work, yet never got the money, nor the recognition that he deserved.
So in the end, the question is truly this one :
Who would you rather be? Edison or Tesla...? Life is full of Edisons and Teslas.
The Choice is yours.
