second hand knowledge perspective - i have a hazy memory of a claim that trrops in vietnam threw their dogtags away because of the jingling and clanking noises
something about that doesnt seem right to me, but the thought is there

I don't really recall getting dog tags.
Were they still being issued in the seventies?
through 88-92 is all I know for certain
I must have got some then.
