Posture. Does good posture really matter?

in #posture5 years ago

Posture is one of the simplest things to change short term, but in a rapid paced everyday life its the hardest thing to keep focused on. Yet the irony is its everyday poor posture that leads many to unnecessary aches and pains we find.

As your head moves forward it puts increasing strain on the muscles in the back of your neck which are constantly straining to hold your head in place and preventing it from falling forward. Have you ever noticed those people with their head down texting away, yet forget to look at yourself in the mirror when you do it too? Ever get headaches? You should never get headaches unless there is a cause. Remove the cause, remove the headache, its that simple.

As your head moves forward this also through leverage puts a lot of strain on the muscles of the mid and lower back and in time issues here start to occur as a result of leaning forward in a car, or driving in car for increasing periods of time.

For this very reason we have a posture face in our centre once a month on the second Monday of the month in our Billericay centre. There is a small charge for this class and it must be booked in advance due to limited space. In addition to this we also have it recorded in our video feed on our facebook page at www.facebook.com/ccbillericay. Please feel free to check it out.
