The art of Meditation.

On this occasion I will write about how little I know and which is a lot on the subject of meditation for beginners like me. To begin with, in Western culture the word meditation comes from the Latin meditatĭo that originally indicated a type of intellectual exercise; while the word contemplation was reserved for a more religious or spiritual use. Apart from its historical use, the word meditation is used in the translation of concepts from Asian spiritual practices such as dhyana. In this way, the word meditation acquired a new definition that makes it similar to contemplation. Meditation is the highest practice of yoga (this does not mean that it is
Difficult). Actually, very few people can meditate due mainly to two
Reasons:

  • Very few people know what exactly meditation is.
-Less still have enough will to practice (lack of motivation)
Not everyone who stands still with closed eyes is meditating. The meditation
It is a delicate science and cannot be practiced in complete ignorance. Only those
They study it with a serious inner motivation they can practice it successfully.
We must bear in mind that meditation,
Especially in the early stages, you must have a
Object. Without object to meditate on there is no
Meditation. The simplest object of meditation is a
Physical object (a point, a geometric drawing, a ball, adv)
E In more advanced stages the objects of
    Meditation becomes more subtle:
  • Mental images created at will,
  • An affirmation,
  • A problem that needs a solution,
  • A feeling,
  • A thought,
  • An idea,
  • A subtle energy,
  • a state of consciousness, etc.
In this case, the word "object" refers to any
    Of these examples.
Here it is necessary to emphasize that the subject must perceive very well the object of meditation.
In other words, the object must have a clear objective or subjective reality. A
Idea defined with vagueness cannot function as an object of meditation. The subject
(The practitioner of meditation) must be able to "take over" one of the
Main characteristics of the object, at least, if not all of them.
    Stages in meditation
Perennial traditional wisdom teaches us that to enter the state of
Meditation you have to follow certain defined steps. No one can enter into meditation
    Without following these steps.
    The stages are:
    Dharana - mental concentration
    Dhyana - meditation
    Samadhi - joyful identification
In the Western Tradition these three stages are called "consideraratio"
(Consideration), "contemplatio" (contemplation) and "raptus" (abduction).
Each stage, once dominated, leads naturally to the next. After concluding a meditation you will experience great peace and mental clarity and it will help you to realize that meditation is more than an exercise in relaxation!
