That feedback loop! Yes! @quantumanomaly and I have been discussing this lately and he has helped by mentioning those baby steps/tiny tasks that can help break up the cycle, but I was glad to read about it from another perspective.
Usually being the friend people call for balance or space to utilize coping mechanisms for their own depression, I wanted to dismiss my feelings as symptoms from a stressful situation. And I know the situation is contributing a lot to my feelings, but I also know that even once that one problem is resolved, I will need to continue working on myself.
Thanks for the information and helping me prepare for the next cycle of feeling like everything is pointless. I love lists, so maybe I will make a list ahead of time for things I can control and will make me feel more proactive/empowered.
