Infatuation with the Image of Good and of Being PositivesteemCreated with Sketch.

Many people seem to have an infatuation with the image of doing “good” and being "positive", rather than stopping the negative and evil.

Trying to create good while you choose to ignore how you create evil, is confused, counterproductive, inconsistent lunacy and will not work. Only when we face this contradiction can be heal our "insane" conditions of living.

Evil must be faced and stopped before new good can truly, fully, work. Focusing on good at the cost of ignoring evil allows evil to continue and creates two potential paths:

  1. the path for Evil to wash away the Good that was built upon a faulty foundation
  2. the path for Evil to consume the Good into its own preservation, projection and protection, i.e. a mask or illusion of "Good" to accept Evil.

This is the big deception of philanthropy and charities that people do good in some gestures and then keep doing what they do in other ways. The appearance of “right”, while continuing the hidden wrongs all around. Do we really think doing evil with the left hand and washing it with the right hand will work? It only masks evil so we have trouble readily seeing it for what it is, creating artificial images and illusions of “goodness”.

Maybe not. But its gotta be better than double fisting with the evil, right?

Arguments for what is better or worse can always be made to justify or excuse behavior. It's a red herring technique to avoid the issue. People can accept that something else is worse, then case closed, the red herring had it's effect, and the original issue is side stepped. Distraction fallacy accomplished. ;)

I took an Honors class in college titled "Understanding Evil". It covered exactly what you're saying.

Sweet! I've contemplated consciousness, existence and morality for many years. Reality lays bare all, we can all learn the same things in common. Thanks for the feedback, peace.

Hmmm... time to post up my recent paper on good and evil written for a philosophy class.

Sometimes I think it may be people trying to cancel out bad deeds with good deeds. A bit like trying to cancel out a mega cheeseburger with a trip to the gym.

Morality doesn't work that way, lol. There is no grand cosmic imaginary magical ledger for us to "balance" things out to a cosmic bookkeeper. The bookkeeper is ourselves, to feel the guilt, shame and judgment of our wrong actions. Then we try to make up for it, in the wrong ways, hardly ever addressing the one we wronged, or putting it the wrong right, simply choosing to do "good" somewhere else while never redressing the wrongs themselves.

I agree but people are not always rational:)
