Differences Between a True Positive Attitude and Rhetoric

The most important difference between a true positive attitude, and mere rhetoric, are that the latter is more about your own emotions. The latter is a matter of logic. If you truly believe that you are doing the right things for the planet, and for other people, then nothing else matters. In many ways, mere rhetoric sounds like an oxymoron. After all, the "loudest" person usually has the biggest megaphone, which can only go so far.

So, what is it about rhetoric, that makes it so different from true positive thinking? It is because it is about emotion. And it's not just about you. You are actually part of something bigger than yourself, which is why it's so comforting and satisfying to live in a world where things are good and you are part of something bigger than yourself. Whereas the rhetoric of most religions is about "I," the reality is about "we."

Once it's time to get out there and do something, it becomes clear. To see the "bigger picture," and to be part of something bigger, is to live in the now. In fact, we all should want to live in the now as much as possible. And if we don't, then we will never achieve anything.

True positive thinking is about creating a positive life that is based on a belief system based on logic and fact. If you believe that you are part of the solution to a problem, and that solving the problem is the best way to achieve something greater, then it becomes obvious how you can become part of the solution to a larger and more important problem. You begin to believe that a solution exists, and you can make a difference.

Poetry is about emotion and rhapsodic prose, on the other hand, is about a more cerebral type of thought. And I can assure you, there is no poetry to rhapsodic prose. - or to ranting, either. I would like to encourage everyone, however much they believe in simple rhetoric, to take some time and consider the difference between rhetoric and true positive thinking. And see if they can see any reason why it might not be worth pursuing. Their own version of rhetoric.

There is nothing wrong with rhetoric if it is directed towards the public, but for true positive thinking, the language has to be designed for you and your needs. Because if your language doesn't match up to your needs, then it doesn't matter what others might think. If you're using it to talk about your personal experience, you are already working with a very different language from the way you might use it for a business situation. or a public situation.

If your rhetoric doesn't work for your public arena, you may feel lost and you won't succeed. If you don't know how to use it properly, you can lose track of what you want to achieve. and get discouraged. If you don't know how to adapt your language when circumstances change, you may also lose sight of your purpose. If you really want to help people, think about why you are in the world, and what you hope to accomplish. then use a language that reflects that.

True positive thinkers use language that describes the truth about themselves and their situation. They use language that expresses their convictions about life. True positive thinkers often find that this is easier to do than you think. Because they do not spend their lives trying to convince others how to think, they realize that they need to help themselves first.
