Venice ~ Native

In Venice you can pint camera virtually anywhere and likely will get an amazing shot.... From all the streets and canals and all authentic shots, this one is real gem of my 5-days collection....

No facebook. Local grandpa is browsing thru the obituaries for the friends and Venetians he lived the life with. Local population shrinking drastically over past decades. From over 60 thousand (which was already a huge drop of population after 1960's from 121K) down to 35K. And even from that number, according to local guy we rented apartment from, roughly only half works and lives in the historical buildings. Massimo owns the last small hardware store in Venice. Fights with raising water flooding the store, which he says not going to last long. And no really local customers, tourists buying batteries cannot really sustain the business. He lives in one apartment and rents out another. His stories and insides where aside common tourists paths, we can experience Venice were very valuable. If you have any plans to visit Venice, don't stay at hotel, try to catch that experience by renting thru arbnb or something, before the whole place (Venice has been ranked the most beautiful city in the world as of 2016) .... finally turns into a Disneyland and there will be no one to read or post the last obituaries on this wall ....
