Ćemane, preteča violine je bio najpopularniji instrument u Srbiji dok se nije pojavila harmonika.
Kod nas se održava nekoliko festivala na violini a koristi se naziv ćemane.

Na primer "Moravačko ćemane" ili smedervski festival violine "Semendriino ćemane"
