Hello, wonderful Steemians!
I'm keeping it light this Friday afternoon and participating in @jasonrussell 's portrait contest. Thank you @anna-mi for letting me know about it, with her beautiful entry of her daughter.
While I am not half the photographer most entrants are, I'm entering because thanks to Steemit's bnw challenge, I rediscovered my love for black and white photos last week and welcome the opportunity to share some that are portraits.
Before the days of the iPhone and even of digital photography, I used to adore them and went for years only shooting black and white film. Honestly I’m not sure I was a very good photographer back then or even now, but my eye is better and I have a renewed passion for this genre thanks to steemit.
I’m entering 4 portraits:
one of my dog lucy napping in the sunshine. I love this dog. More than anyone should love anything!

and lastly a portrait of mother nature and yes I know this stretches the definition of portrait but I hope you'll go with it.

I loved the black and white movies, the tranquility of Lucy reflects your love ... I love how in your last picture it seemed that the floor was a cloud.

Great set of photos for the competition. I too Love love love dogs! totally a dog person over cats! It's just a shame they don't live as long as us. But that's life, it comes and it goes. Steem on my friend!

Beautiful portrait. You look great. For some reason I always prefer portraits in black-and-white processing. As one of the great photographers said, " When we photograph a person in color, we pass the color of his clothes. But when we are doing black and white portraits, we photographed the human soul".
