Steemit Portrait Contest Week 1 - Entry 1
I'm usually behind the camera rather than in front of it but this is me, a portrait taken by my friend and edited by myself, so as per the rules it's OK!
Actually a few friends helped with this, one made the monocle (which was fantastic, though shaped for his skull so it pressed a bit hard into my cheek), another lent me the dust filter mask. This was part of a "Blade Runner/cyber/steampunk" shoot that we did a while back; so much fun!
Additionally, I suppose this is my criminally late #introduceyourself post, though I've been here since August '16, I never put up a proper intro post.
I'm a photographer and most of what I shoot is macro recent spider post! sometimes they are cute little creatures; sometimes not, take a chance and click it! :D
I live in Osaka and I also take pictures of the city/people etc as well! Bugs and flowers are just outside the door though!
I very much enjoy talking about the things I post: bugs, photography, so if you have any questions etc please ask!

I have a feeling we may just meet one day, since Osaka is so close to Taiwan!
It really is! Less than 3 hours and not too terribly expensive.
Where would you suggest to visit in Japan other than Osaka that's not too touristy?
Good question, Kyoto and Nara are close but will touristy, Kobe less so. Getting away from the really famous cities would be best if you want to avoid tourists. Wakayama, Tottori, Shimane are pretty rural. Kyushu is nice too.
Depends a lot on what you want to do or see. :)
Did I mention before the picture reminded me of Jean Luc Picard when be became the Borg?

Wow, it's not often I'm told I'm photogenic, Thanks! Maybe I should experiment with self-portraits at bit.
I think it is much easier for photographers (in general, not every photographer) to find the beauty in others rather than themselves, it is for me in any case. So I am sure you are photogenic yourself, perhaps have another photographer take your picture to show you your photogenic self!
and yes it sure is a killer shot....you do look wickedly handsome :P

Don't worry about having perfect English, it's enough if you get your message across! That's what I tell my students at my day job but they are of course too concerned with test scores.

Great picture. Love Steampunk. Do some art from recycled materials in that vein. So much fun The goggle is great. Is that a huge lens from an enlarger or something? Probably not, would make the world view a bit 'buggidy'.
Steampunk is a lot of fun, though in reality all that coal would be terrible for the environment!
The lens was harvested from a pair of cheap sunglasses from the 100 yen shop (dollar store). I've told my friend to make more but he's got other projects going that capture his attention!
Can't even fathom what the world would be like if we were burning coal like 120 years ago. Just standing behind a running car from the 1960's is enough to gag one to death. But the 'stuff' is cool, none the less.
