PortraitContest (Entry #2) - Week 11 - for @jasonrussell
Portraits can be of dogs, because dogs are people too, right?
Our rescue dog, Bear, came to us underweight and timid. We drove eight hours round trip in mid-December to claim him. He was ten months old, too much for newlyweds to handle.
We paid double the asking price due to a bidding war with someone who already had three dogs, and they were reportedly not nice to little Bear. Our Prince, a sable and white Collie boy (age one at the time) needed a playmate.
The two of them get along beautifully. They play all day. They never fight. Prince has taught Bear all his tricks. Bear gained weight and has grown much taller. He'll be two on January 25. He still barks too much, too loudly, but we love our little Puppy Bear, and we look forward to more quiet moments like this one.
