This year I was at the Italian Redbull BC One final, hosted in Pisa by the Back to the Style (BTS) collective.
In my many years as an admirer of the Hip Hop culture I have witnessed several breakdancing competitions but never in such an important competition and with such strong dancers / athletes.

Quest'anno sono stato alla finale italiana del Redbull BC One, ospitato a Pisa dal collettivo Back to the Style (BTS).
Nei miei tanti anni da estimatore della cultura Hip Hop ho assistito a diverse gare di breakdance ma mai ad una competizione così importante e con ballerini/atleti così forti.

High level, crazy power move and desire to win that could be read in the eyes of every participant.
In some cases I have seen the boys defy gravity and literally take flight.
Their physique was put to the test by unacceptable positions for an ordinary person, all seasoned with expressions used to mock the adversary.

Livello altissimo, power move pazzesche e voglia di vincere che si poteva leggere negli occhi di ogni partecipante.
In alcuni casi ho visto i ragazzi sfidare la forza di gravità e prendere letteralmente il volo.
Il loro fisico messo a dura prova da posizioni improponibili per una persona comune, tutto condito da espressioni utilizzate per deridere l'avversario.

But the thing that left me most impressed was the loyalty and respect that each participant had for the opponent.
They taunted, challenged each other but in the end they were all friends like the Hip Hop culture teaches.

Ma la cosa che mi ha lasciato più impressionato è stata la lealtà e il rispetto che ogni partecipante aveva per l'avversario.
Si schernivano, si sfidavano ma alla fine erano tutti amici come la cultura Hip Hop insegna.
