Porsche 928 Shooting Brake - Only car in the world

Panamera long before Panamera.

It was made as a gift for the 75th Birthday of Ferdinand Porsche.

Only one single Porsche 928-4 Shooting Brake car is kept in the Porsche Museum.

Today, everyone is pleasantly surprised by the fact that Porsche in Geneva introduced "Panamera sport turizmo", the wondrous version of the famous car so-called "shooting brake".

The idea, in fact, is not new at all, and "shooting brake" models have been made in the seventies, most often in more than limited series.

Porsche did this more than thirty years ago, when in 1984 they made a special gift for the 75th birthday of Ferdinand Porsche. It was a single "928 Shooting Brake" car model, with the official name "928-4".

As a basis for the construction of this version, the Porsche Development Center took the model "928 S" and extended it by 25 centimeters. This additional space is used to fit the second row of full size seats, instead of standard auxiliary models.

In order to make it easier for the passengers to move backwards, the B posture is somewhat straightened up, and there is much more headroom. Compared to serial models, the difference was that this birthday gift got fixed headlights rather than jerky ones.

At Porsche, they decided to keep the factory engine - a five-liter V8 with 310 horsepower, enabling it to reach a maximum speed of 310 km / h.

As I have already said, only one single car exists today, you can see it in the Porsche Museum.
