I was browsing Steemit blogs the other day and I noticed something interesting…there is a lot of porn on Steemit and D-tube. Not just one post here or there, literally hundreds of post containing pornography and that’s when I started to get irritated…care to know why? Because people are actually getting paid by stealing porn videos from other websites and reposting them on Steemit, this is absolutely ridiculous for a number of reasons.
First and foremost, there are people who spend hours writing good quality content and not getting paid a dollar, but someone who is ripping porn from other websites and reposting it is getting paid and up voted every single day. Secondly, people should not be rewarded for stealing someone else’s work, no matter what the content is, these violators should be flagged immediately. My final reason, Steemit is a small community that is growing each day with the hopes of becoming a leader in this space, reposting videos from PornHub does not support that dream. If anything a platform full of content stolen from other sites will not be taken seriously by the rest of the world. Now I know what some of you are thinking...this is Steemit, we are 100% against censorship and we want people to post whatever they want to post…and I agree with that statement as well, especially with the mass level of censorship that is currently taking place. I am simply stating we should not be supporting the people who want to make a quick buck by stealing content and watering down the quality of his platform. If you want to make your own porn and post that…well that’s a different story :)

So up vote and support the people you prefer to see, and if you feel others are in violation, you are welcome to flag them. You'll see those commiting the act are either working to curate from a large pool and citing their sources, or aren't making much and drying up quickly. It's actually a lot better governed now, there are a lot of nannies here keeping things stately.

A ban is both unjustified and unfair to those who do not abuse the right to express their sexuality. Steemit is richer for it, for the people, their pictures and stories. If you don't like it you are more then welcome to throw your blinders back on.

Maybe a ban would be taking it too far, but I just feel that people are abusing the system. Hopefully they will be weeded out in the long run.
