RE: Scariest deception going on.

Some interesting stuff from the parallel passage in Deuteronomy 5:

It starts out like this:

The Ten Commandments

5 Moses summoned all Israel and said:

Hear, Israel, the decrees and laws I declare in your hearing today. Learn them and be sure to follow them. 2 The Lord our God made a covenant with us at Horeb. 3 It was not with our ancestors[a] that the Lord made this covenant, but with us, with all of us who are alive here today. 4 The Lord spoke to you face to face out of the fire on the mountain. 5 (At that time I stood between the Lord and you to declare to you the word of the Lord, because you were afraid of the fire and did not go up the mountain.) And he said:

This is all context. Who did God make the covenant with at Horeb? The Israelites. Clearly, it " was not with our ancestors that the Lord made this covenant, but with us, with all of us who are alive here today." Were you there with Moses, or are you a descendant of those people?

Relevant section on the Sabbath:

12 “Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you. 13 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 14 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns, so that your male and female servants may rest, as you do. 15 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.

Were you a slave in Egypt? What is that in there for? It seems to me that it is clearly saying WHO the commandment is for. The reason why, the "therefore" is specifically stated as God brought them out of Egypt." Didn't quote that section of the Ten Commandments, did you?

Sort:

I cut it short to show in the simplest forms the differences. Look at the second commandment of the Catholic commandments. It is missing. They took out the worship of idols. Why? Because the pope can think to change laws of God.

No, that's ridiculous. They cut it short to avoid difficult questions about all the statues of Mary, Jesus, and the saints. Just like you cut the Sabbath commandment short to avoid difficult questions about who the commandments were given to in the first place. Can Ellen G White change the Laws of God?

My friend they cut the second commandment out all together. It’s not there.

Okay, if you say so. I posted the relevant texts, where were the numbers? I missed them...

Look at the relevant text that you posted and the numbering of this Catholic commandments. They don’t match up. Number 2 is missing and the 9th command is duplicate of the last.

There are no numbers in the bible!
