If you don't know how to be sad, then you also don't know how to be happy
Someone once said that depression is when you don't know how to be sad, and if you are depressed then it is hard to be happy.
I have three simple rules about happiness:
- Happiness is not a destination but a direction: don't strive for happiness but try to travel in that general direction
- Happiness cannot be measured: there are relative states of happiness and sadness, but the degree of happiness cannot be quantified.
- Happiness is a choice: you can only be happy if you choose to, and as soon as you make that decision then you open your mind to the possibility of being happy despite adversity, sadness and whatever life manages to throw at you.
Once you set out in the general direction of happiness and try not to measure how happy you are and choose to be happy then even when you are sad there is happiness to be found :)

Awe thanks ! But I actually started this contest to gain positivity when I was going through some tough times , and it definitely has helped me a lot just reading all the positive posts that come in over these 18 weeks now ! Im feeling much better now then I first started ! I wish for more people to find positive energy by reading more posts in this Tag ! Hopefully I will get Tag soon so its easier for people find the posts ! 👍👍👍💕😊
What you did to turn something that is not so positive into something that is very positive is exactly what I mean about knowing how to be sad without letting it drag you into a deep emotional chasm! Even the queen of positivity is allowed to have some tough moment :)
