Small blessings in a troubling time. P.O.P Contest #18
My family is going through some trying times, we've had a recent death in our family, and after that my Mother-in Law was in the US for some tests, and she had a stroke in the hospital. She is from a small Carribean island with limited medical facilities, so she goes to the US for most things like that. Anyway, it's not looking good, so my wife flew down from Canada to be with her mom. I wanted to make a power of positivity post, but have been having a tough time coming up with one, but yesterday her mom "woke up" from the non-responsive state briefly when her children were in the room and looked at each of them, and was able to squeeze my wife's hand briefly, before slipping away again, and has not been responsive again.
This may sound like a negative post, and maybe overall it is, but for that brief moment, I believe her mom was able to tell them all good bye. That brief moment was a blessing from God, and had a really big impact.
No matter what life throws your way, I think its important to focus on the the blessings, no matter how small they may seem at time.

Ohno, that is so tough when loved ones are unwell, but you are absolutely right, I'm so glad your wife could be there for this special moment. It's a true gift! You show a great strength of character to able to still see the positive when things are hard. We'll be thinking of all of you during this difficult time.

Thanks so much for sharing with us in trying times @fat-elvis ! I know how hard iit can be losing loved ones with Mom and Dad now passed on... May they fest in peace... Im positive she was saying she loved her very much and goodbye , not to worry . Which can be very powerful and positive . Im not the religious type in that sense but My prayers are with you and your family ... Good Luck and stay positive , healthy and well my friend !🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

This awful so close to holiday season! I am glad that your wife can be with her mother at this time. Strokes can behave strangely. She was in a good place when it happened, at the hospital where she could get immediate treatment. The first few hours are so important. I will keep her in my prayers. Have courage and faith that all will be well.
Yes, Were great full that she was in the US at the time, and in a hospital.
