Poloniex finally has a human working on the deposit lost July 5th 2017
I have proved over and over that I am @htooms - even got the entire hash transaction from the blockchain.

I think I had explained this
in a post way back then. I sent a large deposit to poloniex, put the wrong memo (which is like sending no memo) and the money just got to Poloniex and had no path to follow so ...
The money just fell into the poloniex account.
Like when you send a friend some steem and they are in the same room - no need for memo. They know who it's from.
I got all the AI auto answers that could not possibly be related to me forgetting a memo. I thought I was done. But, there may be a chance.
Oh, He thinks it might have been deposited in another user's account (the memo I put was a bittrex memo - doubtful they would align).
How will we/I know that our deposits will be refunded? I just deposited 2 days ago amd until now nothings happen. I really need an answer about some question about the crypto-exchange Poloniex,
It's a website. Anyone can go to wix.com and create an exchange. People will deposit money there. When you use poloniex, bittrex, bitstamp, or any other "exchange", it's just a person who wrote a webpage and you are sending them your bitcoins. If they are asleep, your money won't show on the page till that person wakes up, checks his wallet, and edit's the web page to reflect your deposit.
Just because Poloniex has 10,000 users, doesn't mean it's anything more than just a web site that takes deposits. They will try to make users happy until they don't care any longer. Then they will give up and keep the money like MtGox did.
MtGox was the first exchange, run by 3 guys in an office the size of a hot dog stand in Japan. The owner was french, Mark Karpeles, and he lost interest in caring about his company because he made over a million per day in trading fees. So hackers got in and got most of it.
These are all just web sites
They are honest until they decide not to be.

It is a very late reply from such a Big and famous exchange.
I know that some people had trouble in Poloneix since July2017,, Personally I never used it for my few steem dollars that I withdrawn few months ago, I actually used Bittrex because I was afraid that I would loose them,, But I really had a fraction of BTC that worth less than $40 then,, but I checked my Poloneix account when I read your article and found that It worth $265 by the time of writing this comment and I am hapy with that,,, but I really feel sad for all people that lost their steem dollars that time,, and I hope there will be a solution for it soon and everyone could get their money back.

Personally, having dodged bullets with MtGox and Bitstamp in the beginning, I learned to ID the tell tail signs of a failing or insecure exchange. I just joined Bitshares which, like steemit, is instant in transaction time. It's decentralized and pays you to hold money there, or refer people. To join under me, you could use wallet.bitshares.org/?r=htooms1 or openledger.io/?r=htooms1 to join. There are currencies , ruble, cny, eur, usd that all pay interest (5% variable) and there are coins too but not a lot of volume.
I will give up the volume and high frequency trading of Pol and Bittrex for security. I know that the governments are interested in finding out who is trading and want documentation on everyone who owns bitcoins. It is only a matter of time until the stamp out or regulate pol, bitr, bitfin, stamp and the rest out of existence.
I can only imagine the frustration! I had to jump through some hoops with poloniex months bad when I suddenly stopped getting the authentication codes to login ( I used the email option at the time.) I know it's not exactly the same issue, but OMG was it a sloooooooow process. I think it took at least 3-4 weeks to work it out...hoping that the markets I had my money in didn't go too crazy.
Anyhoo...I definitely hope they track it down and fix it for you! Make sure to take some breaks so it doesn't drive you too crazy!

I just got a reply - even after shaming them in this post - I mean posting the guy's name here too...
They are now saying that my account was disabled so they are working to enable it, THEN they will be able to start tracking things down for me (after I spent days digging in five-month-old blockchain goo

That is happening to me right now...No reply For my "Nowhere to see" transactions done day before yesterday on poloniex, Though created two tickets inorder to be sure it reaches them and wakes the sleeping 🐻.
Don't know how much time it is gonna take to resolve the issue. I am a BITTREX follower now on.

If it's like my problem.
😱 5 months that is a long time...Only 4 days for my problem...I suppose now it is like "forget your old sins and resent from doing new ones". Lesson learnt hard way.
I did everything right, right memo, But still not credited to my account. Till now no response from poloniex officials on the 2 tickets since 4 days.
When put in my ticket, other people were saying that they got yelled at for sending more than one ticket. Even blocked from sending tickets because they were spamming.
So if you want your money back, don't spam the system!
Yea i too got banned from logging in momentarily on @poloniex, Tho after 12 hours i could now log in again. I hope they resolve the issue soon enough.
