It's because of the HF19 that's happening shortly. It'll get enabled when the Steemit developers give it the green light that everthing is working fine after the hard fork.
I sent a powerdown to the account right as it went on the blink, and the transaction has not appeared in my poloniex wallet. Annoying. Hopefully they will have it up and running again soon, it's been almost 24 hours.
Oh, thanks to @cryptodog for explaining it was a HF related issue.
Poloniex is still backlogged, but you can reach someone over on a Reddit thread; people are listing their service ticket numbers and /u/Mike-Poloniex has been addressing them one by one.
I've got steem in limbo over there, too. 25 hours and counting. Le Sigh. Here's hoping things get remedied asap.
