Poloniex has been working mostly flawlessly for 3 years - ethereum, on the other hand, with its bloated blockchain... Poloniex is definitely not a scam. They are late in answering their support tickets, granted, but I always had good customer service, including when I was doing stupid things, like forgetting the memo.
